SELF-CARE CONCERNING CO-VID CRISIS
Everyone and indeed, the world, was going about its business when it struck! No one knew what it was, because it had never happened to the human race. Although throughout history, we could relate it with its sister occurrences, this one is new. It sacked economies, diplomats, key financiers, and put powers that be to question. No one, not even the strongest nations of the world have been able to find an answer to that one big question- When is it ever going to end?
At first, everyone thought it was only an epidemic, something minor and restricted to an area, until the World Health Organization cleared our eyes and tagged it a widespread disease, indeed one with a name- CO-VID 19. Now, everyone is stuck in his home, trying to pull body and soul together, finding something worthwhile to pull us through.
Hey, hold up! We are all used to a fast-paced world where we do not have time for the basic things that matter. Now this occurrence has popped up in our very bustling, forcing us to a slow pace to re-think and focus on the little things we take for granted. Now, what do you do when everything seems to be caving in on you in this crisis?
Improve your relationship with God
Back in the pre-COVID days, we hardly had time for the One who knew us before we were conceived. We were all about making ends meet, pleasing our boss, and trying to put food on our family table. Now that there are lockdown measures imposed in many nations of the world, it should give us time to reflect and renew our relationship with God. How can you revive your intimacy with him?
Personally, my focus has been to improve my relationship with God and give myself a chance to self-examine and change. I desire to always grow and never stop learning, to be the best version of myself, and to please the Most High in every way. I have a long way to go but I’m making efforts to strive in righteousness.
1 Cor. 6:19-20 says “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which is God’s.”
Check yourself from within. Although many have lost their lives, this is a moment for you to shut your eyes to the craziness of this world, reflect deeply and find means of progressing from within.
Strengthen your family values
This is the best time to bond with your family, creating magical memories to last a lifetime, strengthening bonds and values such as honesty, truth, graciousness, sensitivity to other people’s needs, and so on. The list is endless.
Do not succumb to Pressure
Of course, everyone is bored and tense. Who wouldn’t want to be free to go anywhere that pleased him? Who wouldn’t love to hang out with friends and loved ones? So, don’t feel pressured to move as fast as the world but be in control of your life.
What next after the lockdown
Please make sure you utilize what you have learned during the lockdown, utilize them, and consciously make an effort to stay on track with what matters in life.
I sincerely hope these also mirror your desires. I’m sure we all know the things that matter now because life happens when we least expect it.
